Job Description
Support project delivery teams in the identification and
acquisition of property required to implement major infrastructure transit
projects.
Coordinate and collaborate with project delivery teams,
internal and external stakeholders to acquire property and secure access to
land requirements.
Oversee internal staff activities and external service
providers in the delivery of property appraisals, surveys, legal agreements,
reports and other property related documents.
Provide subject matter expertise and support to project
delivery teams through the preparation of property cost estimates,
identification of potential delivery risks and recommendation of mitigation
measures to support project delivery objectives.
Negotiate with property owners, provide oversight on
contracts/fees with consultants.
Coordinate acquisition of land or interests by expropriation
in accordance with Corporate Policy and Procedures and the Expropriations Act,
including providing support to Legal Services and interface with the Ministry
of Transportation, as may be required.
Collaborate with the internal Corporate Real Estate team on
property management and maintenance requirements for newly acquired project
related property.
Prepare, coordinate, and maintain property related reports,
briefing documents and presentation material for various client groups and
senior executives. Completion of a university degree in Land Use Planning, Urban
Land Economics, Business Administration, Communications, Architecture, Law,
Engineering or related field or a combination of education, training and
experience deemed equivalent.
Completion of a recognized Real Estate, Planning, Project
Management and/or relevant professional designation would be an asset.
Demonstrated experience in negotiations, appraisal
acquisitions, ideally with experience, either in the public or private sector,
working within an infrastructure/transit project environment.
Experience with or knowledge of the Expropriations Act would
be an asset.
Strong knowledge of real estate practices and principles,
land titles, commercial leasing, property appraisals, negotiations,
acquisitions and dispositions or land development.
Qualifications:
Degree in Land use Planning/Urban Land Economics/Business Administration/Architectural/Law/Engineering or related field or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
