Overview
The Parts Inventory Manager/ Specialist is responsible for managing the
parts master database within the HXGN EAM system, ensuring that all inventory
and data are accurate, organized, and meet company standards. This role
includes creating and maintaining stores, performing regular audits, and
ensuring data integrity to optimize the asset management process. The position
requires technical proficiency with the HXGN EAM system, strong organizational
skills, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Parts Master Data Management:
-Maintain and update the HXGN EAM parts master database,
ensuring that all parts and inventory data are accurate, up-to-date, and
properly categorized.
-Create, modify, and delete parts records as needed, following the company’s
naming conventions and coding standards.
-Ensure that all parts have accurate descriptions, specifications, and
associated documentation.
-Stores Creation & Maintenance:
-Establish and maintain stores within the HXGN EAM system to manage inventory
efficiently.
-Define and configure storage locations, bins, and stock levels in the system
based on business needs.
-Ensure that each store's inventory is organized and easily accessible for
quick retrieval.
3. Data Integrity Audits:
- Conduct regular audits of the parts master database and store records to
ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Identify and correct any discrepancies, such as duplicate entries, incorrect
data, or missing information.
- Implement quality control measures to prevent data entry errors and ensure
compliance with company standards.
- Inventory Control & Optimization:
-Monitor inventory levels across all stores, ensuring that stock levels are
optimized to meet demand without overstocking.
-Assist in forecasting inventory needs and ensuring accurate reorder points are
set in the HXGN EAM system.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and organization of
inventory management within the system.
5. Reporting & Documentation:
-Generate reports on parts usage, inventory levels, and stock movements for
management review.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on audit findings to improve
system performance and data integrity.
-Document processes and procedures related to the management of the parts
master and stores within HXGN EAM.
-Collaboration & Compliance:
-Work closely with procurement, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure
that all parts and inventory data meet the company’s standards and operational
needs.
-Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies related to
inventory management and asset tracking.
-Assist in training staff on the use of the HXGN EAM system for parts
management and inventory control.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
• University degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Information Management, Statistics, or a related discipline, or a
combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience as a power user of ERP/EAM systems. Experience in a
maintenance environment is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills collaborating with cross
functional teams is required.
• Background in operations and technical field, bringing forward new technology
in transportation to improve rail operations is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with data auditing processes and quality control measures
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
